#TheBadPlace: Stories from the Margins, Book 2 by Shane Dunphy #Audio #BlogTour @dunphyshane1 @audibleuk @midaspr

I am super excited to share my review with you on Blog Tour today for The Bad Place by Shane Dunphy

The house was like something out of a Jane Austen novel, but the truth of what lay in the shadows was more terrifying than any fictional imagining.

Shane Dunphy recalls the experience of his darkest nightmares: a young girl describing missing children as playthings at house parties, but no one was listening; a malevolent, threatening presence looming in the residence they called the Bad Place, and Shane was forced to flee.

And now, 20 years later, a mother pleads with him to find her son who vanished at age five.

Determined to redress his mistakes, Shane doggedly investigates and begins to uncover a vast international child-trafficking ring that goes to the very top of the establishment.

And behind it all there’s the Dark Man, a hideous exile from humanity who has decided Shane needs to be taught a final lesson. Recounting cases of historical child disappearances, unsolved abductions, collusion with the Catholic church and its culture of secrets, lies and cover up, Shane Dunphy builds a picture of a complex web of organised criminality.

And, in a powerful story of personal redemption, Shane attempts to confront his demons and bring the notorious ringleader to justice.

My Thoughts

I couldn’t wait to listen to this second installment of the Stories from the Margins after enjoying the first one so much. I love that the author of this also narrators this himself making it so real.

Shane tells a gripping story of his own experience has he investigates child trafficking. A dark and uncomfortable subject matter. Which is hardly ever spoken about. For me this is a unique and rather complex audio. But it is ten times better than the listening to radio while driving to work. I will be totally honest and have to say, that I could listen to him all day!

Shane paints an emotion and intense picture, you can feel the pain and heartache has the story is told. I learnt so much from listening to this with it being true crime so much goes on in the world that we dont really know about.

This is another belter of an audio which I highly recommend. Now I can’t wait to the next one.

Thank you to Ben at Midas PR for an audio copy and for the blog tour invite.
