I am super excited to share my review for Impostor: An Alexander Gregory Thriller (The Alexander Gregory Thrillers Book 1) by LJ Ross which is out today!
There’s a killer inside all of us…
After an elite criminal profiling unit is shut down amidst a storm of scandal and mismanagement, only one person emerges unscathed. Forensic psychologist Doctor Alexander Gregory has a reputation for being able to step inside the darkest minds to uncover whatever secrets lie hidden there and, soon enough, he finds himself drawn into the murky world of murder investigation.
In the beautiful hills of County Mayo, Ireland, a killer is on the loose. Panic has a stranglehold on its rural community and the Garda are running out of time. Gregory has sworn to follow a quiet life but, when the call comes, can he refuse to help their desperate search for justice?
Murder and mystery are peppered with dark humour in this fast-paced thriller set amidst the spectacular Irish landscape.
With an OMG prologue and a NO WAY ending what can I say but you guys are in for one hell of a treat. This book has gone straight to the top of my favourite crime series and its only book one!
I am a big fan of DCI Ryan so I was slightly nervous about reading this, I couldn’t help thinking is this, going to live up to that series.and you know what it did! LJ Ross has upped her game and totally nailed it!
Ryan never popped in my head once. Everything about this book is totally different the setting of course the characters even the style of writing. The mystery is still there, saying that it wouldn’t be an L J Ross book without that.
So I began this book thinking I’ll just read a couple of chapters to see what it’s like. Well there goes my house work out the window. I found myself totally addicted when we are transported to County Mayo, Ireland, and follow Forensic psychologist Doctor Alexander Gregory on a case that will have you hooked from start to finish.
I love the fact that the main character is a doctor making it unique. And non of the down the police station investigation. Like you get in police procedural stories. This is actually at the scene of the crime/ investigation……LOVE IT!
There is also some humour which made me LOL the characters totally jump off the pages. Where I could actually hear their accents. It is a tense and exciting read. With an ending that blew my mind….I definitely didn’t see that coming! My only question is….when is the next one out?!
This is a truly awesome read which I highly recommend giving it all the stars
