I am super excited to share my 5 star review with you today for The Surrogate by Louise Jensen which is out now.
You know that feeling? When you want something so badly, you almost feel you’d kill for it?’
Be careful what you wish for…
Kat and her husband Nick have tried everything to become parents, and are on the point of giving up. Then a chance encounter with Kat’s childhood friend Lisa gives Kat and Nick one last chance to achieve their dream.
But Kat and Lisa’s history hides dark secrets.
And there is more to Lisa than meets the eye.
As dangerous cracks start to appear in Kat’s perfect picture of happily-ever-after, she realises that she must face her fear of the past to save her family…
From the no. 1 bestselling author of The Sister and The Gift, this is an unputdownable psychological thriller which asks how far we will go to create our perfect family.
After reading The Sister and loving it I couldn’t wait to read what Louise had in store for us next. OMG this lady sure knows how to write a psychological thriller. This book is absolutely mind blowing in fact it will blow your socks off it is one hell of a masterpiece. I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved it.
In this story we meet Kat and Nat who are desperate to have a baby after trying everything. Then by chance Kat’s childhood friend gives them one last chance to have there dream.
The Surrogate is beautifully written with stunning atmospheric descriptions where I could actually smell the food and feel the weather.
With chapters woven together telling a story of now and what happened in the past. Louise has written one extremely well crafted story that will take you through a rollercoaster of emotions. I felt like the characters all had something to hide I just didn’t know who to trust. It will certainly keep you guessing until the very end. There I was thinking I had it all worked out…how wrong was I!
The tension build up is out of this world. One minute I am on tenterhooks then the next I am crying It’s not very often that I cry reading a story but oh my days this story is so powerful you will not believe it until you read it. Louise has totally excelled herself with this cracking read. I cannot wait for the world to read it. If you loved The Sister you will love this even more.
This is a must read which I cannot recommend enough and deserves 10 gold stars! This has got to be the best book I have read this year.
Thank you to Kim Nash at Bookouture for inviting me to take part in the epic tour.
Louise Jensen always wanted to be Enid Blyton when she grew up, and when that didn’t happen she got a ‘proper’ job instead.
Several years ago an accident left Louise with a disability and she began writing once again, to distract her from her pain and compromised mobility. But writing turned out to be more than just a good distraction. Louise loves creating exciting worlds, dark characters, and twisted plots.
Louise lives in Northamptonshire with her husband, sons, a dog and a rather naughty cat, and also teaches mindfulness.
