Publication Date: 8th May 2017
Series: Eleanor Raven – Book 3
Genre: Crime / Thriller
The brand new thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the author of The Safe Word and The Vault.

Winter is settling on Toronto and a series of seemingly unconnected murders are weighing heavily on DI Eleanor Raven. When an army veteran holds his family hostage, leaving chaos and an unidentifiable skeletal human hand in his wake, Raven is left tangled in a web of leads, lies and secrets, with each thread leading her closer to the all too terrifying truth.

But with time running out, Raven needs to re-connect with her past life – the one she thought she’d finally escaped from – if she’s to find out who the killer is before they strike again . . .

My Thoughts
The Cold Room is the third book in the DI Eleanor Raven series which I have been dying to read after loving the first two in the series. Karen Long doesn’t disappoint with this book it certainly gets a whole lot better.
Eleanor is one strong dark independent character and in this story we get to know her past and learn why she is the way she is. This is shown at the beginning where the story starts off describing a gritty past event with Eleanor. OMG what a start, that was it I was hooked and devoured this book in one afternoon.
Set in winter in Toronto the story moves forward and DI Raven and partner Laurence Whitefoot are called to the is at the scene of a domestic. This isn’t any domestic, this is on the edge of your seat action packed hostage situation. Leaving chaos and an unidentifiable skeletal human hand. Then we also have another case with dead dogs that have been hung in a boiler room. Pretty gruesome but I love it. Are the cases related? Eleanor needs to re-connect with her past to find out who the killer is.
Wow what a story, I love how each part of the story unfolds and I found myself guessing until the end trying to piece it all together. Karen has created one amazing jigsaw puzzle with this page turner.
With plenty of background information this can be read has a standalone but this series to good to be missed
The Cold Room is dark and gritty fast paced read which I highly recommend giving 5 stars.
